Choosing floral arrangements for your wedding can be pretty difficult.
We made a 2-step guide to help you make the necessary decisions!
1) Real or faux floral arrangements? Here is a list of pros for each:
REAL | FAUX |
Traditional Look | Less Expensive |
Preservation by pressing or drying | Lasts Forever |
Fresh Scent | Unscented (if allergic) |
Prearranged- Able to approve flowers ahead of time | |
All flowers will be available (even if out of season) |
2) Pick a bouquet style.
Round
Traditional, simple, elegantHand-Tied
A contemporary style
This cluster of flowers is tied loosely together at the stems, which remain exposed.
Also known as clutch bouquets
Nosegay
A very popular style
Small, compact and hand tied usually with a ribbon or cord.
Different from hand-tied because hand-tied's stems remain long and its ribbon usually has decorative details.
Cascading
Traditional style. Flowers and ribbons trail down the front of the bouquet.
Also known as Teardrop, Fountain or Waterfall Bouquet
Crescent
Sophisticated and contemporary style
Shape of a quarter moon.
Uses flowers with definite shapes.
Presentation
Long-stemmed flowers in a loose bundle.
Cradled in the carrier's arms
Also known as Pageant or Arm Bouquet
Tussy-Mussy
Victorian-style
Kept together by a decorative holder
Kissing Ball
Flowers in the shape of a ball are suspended from a loop of ribbon
Most often carried by flower girls or junior bridesmaids
Also known as Pomander
Jewelry Bouquets
Newest Trend
If you're looking for faux flowers I think this is a great alternative to silk. Brides can add extra sparkle to their day by using family heirloom jewelry for that something borrowed.
My vote: The more simple styles. A round bouquet of roses for the bride and bridesmaids and a kissing ball for the flower girl.
Which one would you pick?
